For patient support programs
Support patients from enrolment to the next dose.
Give patients a way to enrol, book training, receive reminders and reach the program’s nurses. Cater connects the app and website to your case-management system, under the program’s name.
From enrolment to ongoing support
Possible side effects reach the right team
Program staff review patient messages, forms and conversations. The software provides a second check by flagging possible side effects, tested against the program’s examples before launch and after changes.
Staff send reports to the manufacturer’s drug safety team on its form and within the agreed time. Drug safety determines what is reportable.
An optional AI assistant answers from content approved by the manufacturer’s medical and compliance teams, identifies itself as AI and hands over to program staff.
The program’s name and software
The app, website and messages carry the program’s name and identify the funding company. Patient records stay with the program provider in Canada; manufacturer reports use aggregate or de-identified information.
The organization holding the contract, whether manufacturer or provider, owns the custom work.
Working with your program team
Forms, messages and contact workflows use the manufacturer’s approved content. Each change is shown as a working preview and released after approval.
We plan the interface with the provider’s technology team so nurses and reimbursement specialists keep their patient record in one place. Staff can use organizational single sign-on; patients can use Google or Apple.
Screens, messages and program content come in English and French, with additional languages and right-to-left layouts available. Clinical translations follow your approval process.
The program’s nurses and reimbursement specialists answer during its service hours. Cater’s optional 24/7 human support centre can handle setup, sign-in and navigation by phone and in-app chat, in the program’s name. Care and reimbursement questions go to the program team.
See enrolment and a flagged message
A fictional program for a fictional therapy. The patient completes enrolment, books a first-dose appointment and later mentions a side effect in a message. “See what the program sees” opens the flagged message and report sent to drug safety. A separate manufacturer view contains program-level counts.
Interactive product preview. The program, therapy and patient are fictional. The safety process is simulated.

For drug safety, privacy and quality
- Safety reporting. The agreement sets the reporting route and timing. Flags and reports are logged for reconciliation with the safety database.
- Privacy. The care provider holds the patient records, hosted in Canada. Cater acts under a processing agreement; patients consent at enrolment and can withdraw. Program data is not used for model training. We support the privacy impact assessment, including Law 25 for Quebec patients.
- Trust and privacy centre. Under the program’s brand, patients can read about data use, hosting, service providers, security, AI, accessibility and privacy requests. We maintain the platform information for your approval.
- Program compliance. Support starts after prescribing. The app does not reward prescribers or promote the therapy to patients.
- Quality and procurement. Changes record the request, approval and release. We supply audit materials and answer the manufacturer’s and provider’s review teams. The contract can sit with either organization.

A conversation can start with the manufacturer or provider. Scoping brings both teams together; a confidentiality agreement can come first.
